Preparations are underway for our Fall Conference. California University of Pennsylvania will be our host on November 10th. A call for sessions will be sent in the coming months. Please take a moment and think about what you would like to share with the membership, or if there is a type of session from which you or your students might benefit. Volunteers are needed.
Conference time also means Ezekiel Awards. This adjudicated awards program is meant to aid the professional development of the membership and is open to anyone who works in the geographic area of the section. The top three student entries will have registration fees waived for the National Conference in March. Those in academic positions may benefit from being included in the Ezekiel Exhibit, which is composed of the top ten rated entries. The exhibit is then displayed at the National conference and at several locations though out the section.
Students may also be interested in the OVS Award for Travel Support. Cash awards are given to financially assist students who travel to the National Conference. The award can be used to cover any expense associated with conference attendance including: lodging, registration, meals, fees for special programing, and travel. Students do not need to be a current member to apply, and the award can be used to help cover required membership fees as well. Faculty: please recommend these programs to any students who you feel may be worthy of an award.
Information about this and other programs will be available in future emails, on this website, or posted at our Facebook page.
