Krystal Anderson is a senior Theatre major at Pennsylvania Western University, concentrating in Design and Entertainment Technology. With three years of experience in prop design, Krystal has developed a love for bringing stories to life through creative and detailed prop designs. She has been credited as a props designer for multiple productions, including The Trojan Women, Exit Pursued by a Bear, and The SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition. In She Kills Monsters, Krystal added more to her skill set by taking on a role as a puppet designer, which was a unique challenge that she enjoyed solving. During the summer of 2024, Krystal honed her skills she learned from PennWest, and used them to become a Props Apprentice for Wolf Trap Opera. Currently, she serves as the Chair of her university’s USITT Student Chapter, where she is dedicated to create growth and community engagement for this organization. Driven by her love for theatre design, Krystal hopes to work on productions nationwide, and continue to expand her skills in a craft she truly loves.

Ameera Ansari is ONU’s costume shop manager and resident designer who teaches costume design and construction. She has worked as a designer and educator in theatre for 17 years. Ansari holds an M.F.A. in costume design from Illinois State University and a B.A. from Pennsylvania State University. She came from Eastern University, located outside the suburbs of Philadelphia, where she was the costume shop manager and resident designer. She costume designed The Human Race Theatre Company’s 2023 holiday production of Reindeer Sessions. In addition, she has worked for other institutions, such as The People’s Light & Theatre Company, Illinois Shakespeare Festival, Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, Ursinus College, and The Savoy Opera. ONU costume designs include Ugly Lies the Bone, It Shoulda Been You, The Addams Family: The Musical, Julius Caesar, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, The ONU Holiday Spectacular, Choreographers’ Showcase, Waiting for Lefty, Blocked!, The House of Bernarda Alba, Spring Awakening: the Musical (an Ezekiel 2020 board choice winner and award of distinction), Carrie: The Musical, and Hayavadana. Her other credits include Wonderful Town, Godspell, Bell, Book, Candle, Good Person of Szechwan, Noises Off, Our Town, The Centurion, and Twelfth Night.

Amy Ballew is a third year graduate student at Kent State University studying Costume Design and Technology. Growing up in Arkansas she was introduced to the world of theatre through the joy of children’s theatre and always assumed she would go into performance. During her time earning her B.A. in Theatre she quickly realized that technical theatre, specifically costumes, was her preferred form of collaborative art. After graduation she taught high school theatre while also serving as the Assistant Costume Designer for her undergraduate program. After a few years of doing both jobs she stepped away from theatre to co-found three new artists with her husband. Upon the encouragement of her husband she returned to school to obtain her MFA and rejoin the theatre industry.

She has designed both nationally and internationally. She has presented at the World Stage Design 2022, the Prague Quadrennial 2023 and the USITT national conference. She will be teaching in Egpyt in 2025 as part of a Fulbright Grant. DeVault is national president of Theta Alpha Phi, theatre honorary and chairperson of the Ohio Valley section of USITT. Outside of theatre, she is a 4-h advisor and proud member of the Logan Country Junior Fair Poultry committee.
